Our Story

In 1984, Concord Teacakes began with two recipes. Out of a rented Elks Club kitchen, Judy Fersch created a heavenly chocolate cake and an almond lemon cake with such a sweet glaze and tempting aroma that swarms of bees would follow as she put the still cooling cakes into her station wagon. ​

After lots of taste testing and research, delectable scones and Emily Dickinson’s Raisin Brandy Cake would soon join the menu. Striving to stay true to the old recipes, Judy sold her confections at local shops around Concord, MA until she finally opened a retail space of her own in 1993. ​​

West Concord became a home over the following decades, with commuters stopping in before catching the train or tourists coming from far and wide to try Judy’s range of treats. ​

The bakery is filled with an array of delicious cakes, cupcakes, scones, and cookies. As well as some fantastic offers of soups, dinners, salads and sandwiches ready for our customers to take home or enjoy at the shop.
